Judge Weging

As a child, Judge began training Tang Soo Do at the direction of his parents. However, martial arts were not yet his passion and wouldn’t be for a number of years. After over a decade of martial arts movie and action media influence, his interest in it grew. Legendary martial arts movies like Enter The Dragon, Super Cop, and the anime classic, Cowboy Bebop, informed what would be his decision to not only train martial arts, but also what he would one day choose to train. In 2016, upon returning to San Diego after his duty serving The U.S. Navy, Judge knew it was the time to pursue his desire to learn Jeet Kun Do. That decision, which had been growing inside him for years, led him to Phillip Palmejar and P5 Academy. While the Navy had taught him discipline, martial arts would teach him toughness. For the better part of a decade, Judge has learned JKD and Filipino Martial Arts under the instruction of Sifu/Guro Phillip Palmejar. Then recently, he began training Apache knife combat with him as well, under the guidance of GM Robert Redfeather. His role in training increased as did his competency warming students up at the beginning of class. This eventually led to Judge running training while Sifu Palmejar taught internationally. He learned that he loved helping new students learn the skills he had, always jumping at the chance to coach students on their first day. All this work and dedication culminated in Judge receiving his instructor certification under the Poteet lineage of Jeet Kune Do.
